Atrum Veneficus, a proud nation of magis and warriors, now also group of survivors running from a burning land. The government is set up into four orders. Shade, Flame, Dragon, and Retribution. Though all four orders report back directly to the King of Night.  

The Order of Shade
Headed by Otoen Nightseer, known as the Lord of Shade ,the Order of Shade takes care of the infrastructure of Atrum Veneficus, schools, roads, public places such as temples and library's, and housing. They also closely handle the economy trying to find a way to kick up Atrum's old power house industry, the mining of precious metals.

The Order of Flame
Headed by High Lord General Rictas Konyn, referred to as the Lord of Fire, this is the main military order. All of the branches of military come under this order. The military is large enough to defend their people but it is no where near as large as it used to be, though it is incredibly well trained.

The Order of Dragon

Headed by Aisha Darkclaw, known as the Lady of Dragons, this is the order dedicated to the security of the The Order. They are the homeland security division and will be rarely called to battle outside of the cities defense. Unlike the name suggests this is not the main branch that dragon riders belong too, but the Dragon symbolizes Atrum and its protective friends and steeds.


The Order of Retribution
Headed by Sorac Ivory-Wolf, now Known as the Lord of Retribution, is the main group for the Elite Night walkers, the Umbra guard,and the Brother Hood. This group is mainly secret service and more for undercover strike missions. This group also will cater to the few sword magis who have the berserk power, they are used as super soldiers, sent in leading groups of legio or summoners to annihilate enemy threats with extreme prejudice.

The King of Nights
Dehix Banesinger was the second most powerful magis in all of Atrum Veneficus before they were forced to flee to Spero, in their flight the most powerful magis, Sasarak Ivory-Wolf was killed. He was also the King of Nights. Because his oldest son Sorac was more military than diplomatic, and would never truly be able to lead his people in anything but war, he made sure to appoint Dehix ruler until Sorac could take on the responsibility. Sorac does not seem very interested in ever assuming the throne though, as he is content with leading the Special Forces of Atrum Veneficus

The order worships the five gods of night. These gods give them their power and are the reason Atrum exists in the first place, the entire nation is under this religion though it is not a law. They are simply bonded together in this belief.

MAGIS GROUPS: magis groups are like ethnic groups. ecause Atrum was a collection of people from the mountains of lux lucea, its plains, the cold northern wastes, and the forests and bush. All the magis types understand one another due to the dark magik ut eachh o the four groups kept their language. The ranking magis know all four languages and many people have begun to learn them.

Water magis: Water magis are from the frozen North. They have a strange connection to the dark magik that allows them to heal and also control the black waters. The people of the water are capable of adapting to many things, They have a deep sense of community and caring that holds them together through anything. They speak English, and usually have various shades of blue hair, eyes and sometimes a blue-ish tint to their already scale like inhuman skin. These magis can see underwater far better than their brothers and sister, and they also can stay under it for far longer.

Sword magis: Sword magis are for the forests and bush of lux lucea. They are able to cast a multitude of spells that augment their physical fighting abilites like speed endurance and power. The people of the sword are a people of hard workers and warriors. The sword magis are diverse and strong. They are persistent and enduring. they speak Japanese, and look the most human, have normal human colors of hair and eyes, their skin colors vary between white to a more tanned Asian like tone. They are usually always more muscular and more suited to physical work than the other magis.

Flame magis: Flame magis are from the plains of lux lucea. They are masters of flame bbased attacks even without using spells they can create and manipulate dark flames. The flame magis are very powerful and honorable, living by their code from young children until they breath thier last. The flame magis have desire and will, and the energy and drive to achieve their goals. they speak German and their eyes and hair are usually a shade of red and all of them have a slightly tint to their skin that could be either gold, orange, or red. They have a higher natural body heat and they can survive in hotter temperatures than any magis.


Storm magis: Storm magis are from the mountains of lux lucea. The are masters of Black lightning and electricty if on ethe back of a dragon they can create supernatural storms and can call lightning from thier bodies with or without spells. The Sotrm magis are a calm people, and a free people. The storm magis detach themselves from worldy concerns and found a perfect inner peace and freedom. they speak latin and their eyes and hair are usually white and gray and they are usually slightly taller and more slender than the other magis and are usually quicker.

Converts: So far only one person has ever converted to the faith of atrum and become one of the citizens, his name is otoen nightseer. He was a lux lucis sniper and even killed sorac's father, but all was forgiven and he was made a magis and made his way high in the ranks. He is now the economic adviser. By reading the magik pulses in his body magis can tell what his innate ability is, and his is to be able to lern and language through lip contact. He has never used this ability. He learned the languages of atrum veneficus easily already knowing latin and english.

The magis have the innate ability to have telepathic conversations with one another via the connection of the night magik in their blood. Due to this connection they can also tell when people are not magis, because they feel no connection with them.

TOGETHER THESE MAGIS TYPES COVER ALL OF ATRUM. THIER MUTATION LOOKS DIFFFERENT SO YOU ARE ABLE TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN THEM. THESE TYPES JUST TELL YOU A MAGIS'S INATE AILITIES. THEY CAN ALL LEARN HOW TO USE SPELL FROM THE OTHER GROUPS BUT WILL NEVER AE THE GROUPS INANTE SPECIAL POWER. FLAME MAGIS WILL NEVER MAKE LIGHTNING WITHOUT A SPELL SUCH AS STORM MAGIS WILL NEVER CREATE FIRE WITOUT A SPELL

Demonic Philosophy- deals with the thought process and ideals of sentient summons of demonic nature.

Divinatory Academics- teaches magis woo will become scriers how to divine events from the future.

Divinatory Philosophy- teaches about the ethical rules and schools of thought about divination.

Military Demonic Instruction- teaches how to employ demonic type summons in the field.

Military Runes- how to use magik runes and other magik enhancing sigils in combat.

Philosophy of Magical Arts- the ethical rules and schools of thought about magikal arts

Academic Alchemy- lower level alchemical studies

Experimental Summoning- the class in which people experiment with different summon sigils, runes, magik types, and words to see what summons lay in wait to be discovered.

Dehix Banesinger

Dehix Banesinger was the second most powerful magis in the Empire of Atrum Veneficus, he was born into the incredibly influential BaneSinger clan and quickly ascended in the ranks of the old empire. He became the right hand of the current emperor Sasarak IvoryWolf and though Dehix was older than him he didn't try and control the throne, the teachings of Atrum Veneficus were so close to his heart. Years went by and Dehix fought the Lux Lucis at every turn with his men. In one such raid he was burned by an explosion after saving his people, also losing his left arm. He now wears a mask and has a arm made of the magical obsidian like metal his people create. He is now the leader of Atrum Veneficus, being given it's command by a dying Sasarak, because the next IvoryWolf, Sorac, was not ready to rule. Dehix is a shrewd politician and just ruler, and he is not a man to be trifled with.

Sorac Ivory-Wolf
Sorac IvoryWolf is the impulsive son of the former emperor Sasarak Ivorywolf, his power in unmatched throughout the entire Order, though he has no respect for the process of diplomacy or understanding of it's intricate workings. He is in charge of Atrum's special forces and is only deployed and let loose when a grave threat makes itself known. His favored magic is fire and he has the tail of a young dragon grafted onto his body to give him even more power. His love of his nation is always evident in the way he speaks to his people, always giving them hope for the future of their home, he will give anything and destroy anyone standing in the way of Atrum's rise back to power.

“Let the Wolves of war run loose, at their head I will lead the charge into the jaws of death itself and rip from it all the glory and blood of war.”


Arkenfel
Arkenfel is the most accomplished summoner Atrum Veneficus has ever seen, and he is by far the most sadistic of all the magis. He revels in warfare and the death of those he deems as enemies to the empire and himself. His body is barely human any longer having bonded parts of various demons and summoned creatures to his body simply to gain as much power as possible. He is the only summoner capable of controlling the Demon Twelve, twelve huge hell hounds of terrifying power, and he would always fight rather than talk. Kill first and ask questions never is the way he goes about war, and when he is set loose, the enemies of the Order will fear the name Arkenfel, and as the earth trembles with his arrival, so shall they.

Rictas Konyn
Rictas Konyn was born to a low family in Atrum Veneficus but from birth showed an incredible affinity for sword magic and strategy and as he got older he challenged higher ranking magis to duels and won each time, letting his opponent survive ever time. Sasarak took notice and quickly made him a officer within the legions of the Empire, and now he is the leader of Atrum's main military working closely with Sorac IvoryWolf, who is his best friend and the only person who love's Atrum just as much as he does.

“Atrum Veneficus is my home, and I live to defend her and her interests. I am the shield and blade of the Night.”



Otoen Nightseer
Otoen Nightseer was taken into the land of night after being beaten and thrown out of Lux Lucis from sympathizing with the magis and attempting to stage a rebellion. He changed his name to what it is now shortly after his arrival. He is a master of economics and infrastructure and he is in charge of both of those departments of the Order's Government. Though he is no warrior, this does not mean he is weak. He is one of the best magis when it comes to beast taming and commanding and he will very regularly be seen with his pet Drake named 'Ice Shifter' for the blue tint of his skin.


“Atrum Veneficus is a land of Honor and of extraordinary people, I would rather die here then live a lie in Lux Lucis.”


A group of five high level magis with the aptitude for high level summoning and necromancy were picked from the ranks of atrum veneficus and taught by arkenfel himself the arts of controlling the creatures of out-world and bringing the dead back to life as your servants and soldiers. They are known as the mortuus ludicer or Arbiters of the Dead. They are under the command of Karos Ivorywolf.

  Aisha Darkclaw

Aisha Darkclaw is a member of the Arbiters and a Order Lord at the same time due to her power and he fighting skills. She and her brothers and sisters were cats that lived in the temple that housed the Night Well, and because of their constant proximity they were changed and mutated into magis, but they kept their tails and ears. There are about 300 of them now due to interbreeding and no one knows how long they live, though a common joke among magis is they live 9 times a normal human life span.

"They say cats always land on their feet...I don't get it, I fall over stuff all the time and I always land on my face.."

Karos Ivorywolf
Karos IvoryWolf is the second son of Sasarak IvoryWolf and like his brother is an incredibly powerful magis, though unlike his brother, he has absolutely no control over it. One second a spell he casts could be weak even with the spell chant, the next second is could destroy an entire city block without it, though that kind of outburst is rare. He was always in the shadow of his brother, but recently as the leader of the Arbiters he has seen a chance to get out from that obscurity and make a name for himself, though he has yet to actually receive an assignment.

The field when something of a magical origin is attempting to see inside, the central orb is how it actually looks to the naked eye.

Atrum veneficus is protected by a magical force field that keep the inside at a constant temperature of about 75 degrees fahrenheit and the light is constantly filtered so it looks like everlasting night within the barrier, because of this whenever a magis venture outside he or she must use a spell on his or her eyes to allow them to see better in the light of the outside world. It is produced by the energies of the Night Well ((explained in another section)) is filtered through magical crystals that the magis can create by mixing various magically conductive metals and Diamonds together and bathing it in the unfiltered power of the Night Well for three days.

The first crystals, discovered already made in the caves around the original Atrum Veneficus. This is the only known instance of these minerals being produced naturally. It is believed that an vein of diamond was surrounded by various metals and when the city of Atrum Veneficus began to use Night Magik as a way of life, they reacted naturally without interference.

RELIGION: sanctus nox noctis deus or " holy night gods" the worship the 5 gods of Night Magik

MAGIK RULES: the rules of magik are very lax within Atrum since many tasks can be used with magik.
1) magik may not be used by children except in school or with authorized adult.
2) magik must not be used to evade work that is expected to be physical.
3)Do not use magik to hurt other magis (or anyone else) unless in self defense or war
4) magik may not be used in temples
5) Be at temple every morning for hour prayer service.

The dragons of Atrum Veneficus are a large and powerful breed, and they are completely loyal to the Order and their masters.They make up the bulk of the air force, and that is where they excel though they are no weaklings on the ground. Most dragons, when in battle, will not land unless they absolutely need to or if they are the larger dragons used to fight in the air as well as carry troops into battle. Most Fire Magis and some Storm magis are paired with dragons when they come of age and pass the test to be considered a fully fledged Magis.

Most storm magis and a select few flame magis get paired with a might Wyvern, these creatures are the Order Artillery as many of them while a battle is raging will stay far from the battle, digging their back talons and their wing's front claws into the earth as an anchor, and firing either spheres of black fire or black lightning at the enemy lines. The type of breath weapon is based upon which magis type it is paired with. Some of them, the bigger and more powerful ones, will fly above the battle and stir up massive storms. This tactic is mostly used in Naval battles, or when the Dragons have not been deployed.

The peoples of Atrum Veneficus were not the only ones attacked and nearly wiped out by the empire of Lux Lucis, there were a hundreds of cultures wiped out by their white knights and armies just in the decade before the war started.

The original land of Atrum Veneficus was near a large mountain range which marked the beginning of a subcontinent known as Ashis by it's inhabitants, one of the last bastions against the iron will of Lux Lucis. Lux Lucis had attempted to take this subcontinent many times in the past, but had been held by back a combination of three nations that were born long before Atrum. Those three nations were Tirsana, Larethi, and Caligo.

Caligo was an empire situated along the eastern coast of Ashis, claiming a number of small tropical islands as well. They were a nation of traders and fishermen, and were naval geniuses. Their smaller, faster ships could run circles around a Lux Lucis fleet while laying waste to the enemy fleet with their alchemical based fire magic.

Larethi was an empire situated to the west of Atrum and Caligo, what little government there was had trouble doing much else besides keeping Lux Lucis at bay. Their military was rather lacking in offensive capability, but they made up for it with their defensive prowess. Digging in their heels and not letting up even a foot of ground to the enemy legions.

Then came Tirsana, Atrum's closest neighbor and ally. They lived in the desert to the south of Atrum's mountain range, their dark skin setting them apart from most of the other inhabitants of Ashis. Caligans and Larethi people were both of a Caucasian skin tone, though Caligans usually had a healthy tan from their environment and work. The people of Tirsana were very strict, they abhored violence but understood they needed to fight. So they trained from the time they could hold a sword and they never stopped. They honed their skills as warriors so when the time came to fight, they could end the fighting as quickly as possible.

Then came the event Atrumites call The Fall. A single S.A.I.N.T.S operative made it into the defensive wall of Larethi, and brought it down with a well place suicidal explosion. The people and armies of Larethi held for as long as they could, and then fled across Ashis into Caligo, letting the numerous smaller city states and villages along the way slow down the every encroaching wave of White Knights. The Caligan king knew that they couldn't hold them back on the ground, so they evacuated, fleeing across the waters never to be seen again. Leaving only Atrum, Tirsana, and the remaining city states to fight their war.

After years of fighting, the remnants of Tirsana joined Atrum and along with any city states that were left, fled Ashis and came to the land of Spero. Little did they know, this place was the safest they could have gone. Spero had it's own magic, it's own power, they shielded it from Lux Lucis. They would never find them here.

The remnants of Tirsana, mostly young people from children to the people in their early 30s, decided to join Atrum as an elite unit of soldiers, that would train from the youngest age possible to be brutally efficient soldiers, used to combat only the most powerful threats. The members of Tirsana mix intense physical training with the night magik of their new country to become a fighting force that rivals even the Umbra Guard and Night Walkers.
