Descent into Ocean Empty Descent into Ocean

Post by Arian Wed Feb 17, 2016 4:13 pm

An emperor stood atop the high keep of his castle and watches as the White Knights slaughtered the men below.  This war had raged for centuries and found no end.  Pushed out of their lands and onto the largest island of their empire and now to their capital the Arians found to peace, only death.  Kaze turned solemnly to face the man standing stoicly behind him, his face revealing the cost of his plans.

"Take my daughter into the throne room, keep my child safe Koji."  Kaze spoke briefly as his close friend stood silent, knowing that what was to come would be the end of the man standing before him.  Koji nodded and followed his lord's final orders without hesitation, the middle aged man quickly ushered the young empress into the throne room and cast a ward to hide her from any intruders.  As he did the knights broke through the castle doors, ten in number breached the gate as Koji took hold of the hilt of his sword, slowing withdrawing it from the sheath at his side.  She is safe. he spoke silently to his lord as the Knights opened fire of plasma rays on him.  His katana ready at his side as magic surged from atop the keep, a magic that could save the nation or leave in ruin.

The emperor raised his arms, bracing himself as he pushed his energy into the the elements, the winds began turning around him as he closed his eyes and continued to focus all his might into this last spell.  The winds formed a sphere around him, swirling violently as they spread apart.  Soon the sphere would engulf the entire island, lifting it from the Oceans in a flash of light teleporting it somewhere unknown.

The winds held the island miles above sea level, slowing descending into the ocean until suddenly the magic that was safely lowering the nation waned.  A knight thrusting his sword into Kaze's chest stalled his focus, a distance above the Oceans of Spero the Nation was left crashing toward the water.  Impact would kill the inhabitants if not the sudden rush of water would drown them and send a tidal wave rushing toward the Spero mainland which could destroy cities and wildlife miles away from the coast.

Koji felt the magic wane and dropped his blade, sending a massive wave of energy across the continent of Spero. A warning, and a plea for help. He cast the rest of his energy into slowing the descent but could not safely land the island in the oceans without the impact causing devastation to his nation and the surrounding civilizations.

Post by Drui Wed Feb 17, 2016 5:25 pm

The Drui all felt the surge of energy and the feeling of impending disaster that accompanied it. Within minutes Scouts and spotters from atop Forias Cassealian were relaying messages of the giant island floating and then beginning to plummet. Forest dragons began to fill the air aswell as smaller Wyverns and Giant eagles, all carrying Water and Earth Spriggan, while Air Spriggan glided along side lifted by semi translucent wings of air all heading toward the continent as it fell.
The Air and Earth Spriggan flew upward to the continent while the Water Spriggan flew down toward the ocean where it would eventualy fall. The Air Spriggan began using their powers to buffet the bottom of the Landmass with wind atempting to slow and stabilize it while the earth users flew above using their abilitites to pull at the landmass further slowing the descent if only just abit. Meanwhile beneath them the water Spriggan where moving the raising its level and pushing a fair deal further out isolating the impact area to be more able to absorb an impact Several groups of 10 were also sending up pylons of surging water toward the falling land mass.

Killian and Orphen also rushed to the scene atop their respective dragons, Cairde, and Forneart.
Killian- Brother go to Landmass and aid our Spriggan there I will try to help the water Spriggan, send 40 Earth Spriggan down to me, we will try and move the seabed to lessen the impact more.
Orphen smiled at his brother- And there were those who thought the well choose the wrong person to lead us, be careful brother, we need to be wary we are close to the fundament they may try to gain retribution.

The scriers and seers of Atrum Veneficus felt the energy and immediaely began looking to it's source, and upon finding out what it was sent a runner to King of Nights, Dehix Banesinger.

"Lord Banesinger! We have a problem!"

Dehix looked up from one of his ancient tomes and looked alert "What is it? Have the Orsien made their offensive?"

The man shook his head "No sir! An island appeared out of the sky! And if falling towards the ocean, whatever magic was suspending it has broken, if it hits the water entire nations will drown!"

Dehix nodded, he barely seemed phased by the impossibility of an island falling fromt he sky "Send out a detachment of dragons led by Karos and my dragon Kurami, help in away way you can, try and slow it's descent with magic, try and get on the island and figure out what is happening."

Within minutes of the order being given Dragons and their riders flew out as fast as they could to get to Arian, led by Karos IvoryWolf, the second son of the old king.

"Magic or not, not helping them means death to the rest of us! The fleet is launching now, regardless of not having gone through the chain of command. I apologize for making this difficult for you." Selina Johnson, Sky Captain of the Court quickly left the main building of her air base where she had been speaking to The Fundamental about the quickly descending island, they were too close to not help. The large hooks that the airships used to dock could hold if her largest fleet, the Krieg, went together. They wouldnt be able to stop it completely, it they would be able to slow it down.

Minutes later, huge airships began launching from the airbase, a significant number of them. All moving towards the island of Arian, when they saw the Drui, they didn't even stop to cause any trouble. The Drui were inconsequential to Selina, not worth stopping to fight. They were not the threat.

Descent into Ocean Empty Re: Descent into Ocean

Post by Strike Sun Mar 06, 2016 12:09 am

Deep beyond the surface of the ocean underneath the falling island, a number of glimmering lights could be seen refracted through the water like perfectly aligned constellations of stars. At first they appeared to any on-looker as little more than curiously persistent sparkles of light, but in a matter of only a minute or two, their size and intensity grew so rapidly that it seemed as if the depths were coming alive in a vibrant shock of white and aquamarine formations.

In perfect synchronicity, four groups of the lights broke through the waves and shot upwards into the sky, spraying sea-foam violently like arcs of wet shattering glass. Four huge diamond-shaped objects, metallic and covered with the lights that had illuminated them from below, spiraled into the air like rockets. The jets of water that propelled them streamed from underneath with such force and velocity that they shone white like thick, misty clouds. They shot at least a mile into the air and then hung suspended in formation.

The ocean below the crystals' formation churned as if it was disturbed from somewhere within, steadily gaining in pressure.

A ship observed from several clicks away, with sentries manning telescopes and maritime instruments giving readings to a woman in a flowing white dress that was overseeing the operation. "No matter how successful this may be," she spoke to a first mate at her side, "lives may be lost. How far are the rescue vessels?"

"They've left the bay at Calliope already, comrade," the man stood at ease, looking out over the ship's deck at the tiny speck in the sky falling towards the horizon.

"Then we can do nothing but watch, for now."

The water jets hit the earthen crust of the island, pushing again the weight plummeting toward the oceans below.  Rocks and land broke off from the impact and fell forcefully toward whatever was below.  Koji focused his magic into slowly descending them to the ocean, his eyes closed and brow furrowed in pain from the increasing amount of aura being drawn from his body at once. His mind was completely channeled into the magic carefully holding the island from crashing down and killing hundreds of innocence, leaving himself open to attack from the White Knights who remained on the island.

The empress Reia was watching it all as Koji fought for the lives of his people, her life which hund in the balance of the crashing island and the White Knights who wanted her family dead. She cowered at the hand of the throne chair where he instructed her to remain behind him.

The island, even as it fell, was besieged by the remnants of the White Army. The lord general however, was missing from the defense of the courtyard, sensing the disturbance before the island began to fall he may his way through the halls to the keep's roof. In an instant his sword was drawn and soaring their the air toward the White Knight who had impaled his lord emperor. As Naoya fled to the rooftops the army was left without a head in the courtyard, no one to lead it through the panic of almost certain death. What soldiers remained scattered without goals, honorable were most who stood and fought but without formation their lives would likely be lost.

Descent into Ocean Empty Re: Descent into Ocean

Post by Drui Tue Apr 19, 2016 4:00 pm

In the air, Orphan commanded the air adn earth spriggan to  use their control over the 2 elements to   push agaisnt the island with wind and pull the eart of the island up to slow the fall as much as possible. Orphan began circling the island  to  assess the situation of any inhabitants on the island.

On the ground, or rather the seas below. Killian  Was commanding the water spriggan and 40 earth spriggan to  deepen the  sea around where the island would impact, and to cause the water be more  viscous but lowering its temperature to almost  the freezing point, the water becoming a  slush like substance of hal;f frozen sea water. Other water spriggan were   aiding the mysterious newcomers  by   empowering their water jets and  keeping some of the  water  around the bottom of the island to act as a bufeting cushion agianst the air spriggan's wind.

While Orphan circled the island he could see the carnage and chaos ensuing below. He normally would not have interfered, but he saw the white knights  mercilessly attacking  and slaughtering  and capturing  various civilians. To an untrained eye it might be hard to tell, to a master warrior and combatant like Orphan  it was simple to see. The white Knights where the aggressors here, and not just aggressors they were dishonorable.  This orphan could not stand, he looked to his dragon, Forneart' and using their mental link spoke to him. " My friend get low enough to drop me off, then  continue  circling and try to save as many civilians as you can from those white clad warriors, I care not for prisoners, dispatch them and move on. I will make my way to that palatial area. good luck my friend". With that the giant moss and stone like dragon swooped down skimming rooftops  near the palace as Orphan dropped  from his back and  wind caught and lowered him softly to them. Orphan would  look back toward his dragon companion as he flew away and toward the  more civilian area's  full of fury and green fire it roared  at the  white knight warriors, that he easily dwarved, they looked like chew toys to him.

Orphan jumped to the streets, landing  on one knee and a hand (superhero landing)  he stood his blue flame sword erupting from his  clenched fist,  gouging a deep divot in the street  the stone cracking or melting at its touch. Only ever 2 Drui are able to call upon the Blue fire in this way, the High King, and the Spriggan Lord, it was called "the Sword of the Fallen Devil". With sword in hand and a crackling of electricity and thunder  in the other he strode through the streets toward the palace area. Woe to any white knight that crossed his path.

Descent into Ocean Empty Re: Descent into Ocean

Post by Order of Atrum Veneficus Tue Apr 19, 2016 11:49 pm

As the dragons approached the land of Arian, Karos saw something he though he would never have to see again. A detachment of white knights, attacking innocent people.

Karos' brow furrowed with rage and he shouted back to his men “Night Walkers! Umbra Guard! Prepare for battle! All dragons, strafe breath weapons into groups of white knight far enough from any Drui or the unknown group! BURN THEM!” When he finished giving his orders the dragon he was on, Kurami, one of the largest dragons in Atrum Veneficus, roared loud enough to shake the earth beneath him.

When they approached the island and the dragons go close enough tot he ground each Atrumite vanished in a large cloud of black smoke and reappeared on the ground, charging groups of unsuspecting white knights, slaughtering them with absolutely no mercy or quarter.

Karos landed and immediately began dispatching White Knights near him, killing a few before a human form Kurami appeared next to him, and with a calm voice so serene it seemed out of place in a battlefield “I would suggest following the Drui force's leader. He seems to be going towards the palace, you should join him. We will cleanse the area of this filth.”

Karos nodded and sped off to join Orphen in his march towards the palace.

Descent into Ocean Empty Re: Descent into Ocean

Post by The Fundament Wed Apr 20, 2016 12:00 am

Selina and her fleet, The Krieg, arrived at the island to see the battle. Selina observed from her ship and said “Send out drop ships with small detachments of soldiers, wipe out the hostile party, cooperate with the Drui and Atrumite forces and aid the unknown party. All flagships, circle the island and deploy anchors, we should be able to slow it down in conjunction with those...water jets from the sea.”

As she ordered four drops ships deployed and set out squads of Fundament soldiers which began firing on the White Knights, ignoring the Atrumites and Drui. The larger flagships finished circling the island and they all deployed their anchors at once, lodging into the ground deep, the ships jerked down for a few seconds, but the combined power of all the airships and the water jets, the slowed it down enough to match the descent and keep the ships straight.

Selina sighed and grumled a bit “Fuck we don't have the strength to stop the island! It's up to the Drui and Atrumites now it seems...let's hope they have some tricks up their fucking sleeves...” She was very unhappy the airships weren't enough to stop and control the descent XD

Descent into Ocean Empty Re: Descent into Ocean

Post by Strike Fri Apr 29, 2016 12:38 am

As the island's descent grew more and more turbulent, the jets from the sea continued spraying hundreds of thousands of gallons of water with such pressure that the waves churned and frothed like white-hot lava. They had concentrated like pillars to form supports and offer some stability to mass of land as it hurtled down towards the ocean below.

The diamond-shaped metallic stones spun rapidly and emitted a loud whirring noise from somewhere deep within. Something was powering them with a huge amount of force to allow them to exert that much water pressure so far up.

The woman aboard the ship shook her head, looking out from the ship's windowed observatory. "Have all the ports shore up, and call in all vessels aside from the other responders immediately. This will trigger a a severe tidal wave..."

The White Knights were already in disarray and the attacks from all these new forces along with the on going battle against what was left of Arian's military was too much for them to take and remain organized, they began to scatter, trying to find a better position or somewhere they could hide, but they were falling faster than they were retreating. Soon the main battlefield would be wiped clean of them. They white knights around the throne room where the emperor was killed were still organized and fighting though, targeting specifically people they deemed to be the most threatening, especially Koji. These were veteran White Knights, their lives came secondary to ending those nations foolish enough to defy them.

The soldiers of the Fundament were playing clean up, targeting any white knights with deadly efficiency. The airships put all available power into hauling the island so it would stop falling at such an alarming rate.

All the storm magis who were no longer in battle began conjuring heavy winds to aid the air drui in slowing the islands descent.

Karos made his way towards where he sensed the epicenter of the magic holding the island and once he saw white knights approaching the man he sensed the energy coming from, he charged and began slicing the White Knights apart as quickly as he could, though these would fall slower, they were strong and well trained seasoned soldiers.

A group of white knights broke off and attacked Orphen with zealous ferocity. They attacked him at once, trying to swarm him.

Descent into Ocean Empty Re: Descent into Ocean

Post by Arian Sat May 14, 2016 9:14 pm

The island slowed to a crawl with Koji's magic and the help of the others, moments later it stopped moving downward completely. The capital city, the courtyard, and the throne room was a sight of carnage. Mother's wept over the bodies of their brutally murdered children, orphans stared in shock at the bloody carcasses of their parents and siblings, others still screamed in anger as they had in the moments of their loved ones' death.

Reia squeezed her eyes shut for moments before more knight's burst into the throne room. Her eyes opened, watching in horror as Koji stood motionless, she thought unaware of their presence. The coldness of the stone statue she pressed herself against just out of sight of the knights made her skin shiver.

Koji furrowed his brow as the Knights rushed the throne room. He channeled all of his power into the magic holding the island from crashing into the ocean, he knew making any move would cost the lives of his people. He stood motionless with his eyes closed, head tilted toward the sky, arms outstretched to each side. The sheer amount of energy being pushed out of his body was taking its toll as blood began to slowly run from his eyes and nose.

In the distance, atop a hill on the mainland three cloaked figures stood watching the effort to save this new island. One in black hooded cloak on one side, one in white, and one in red at the other side.
"Should we help them?" black said as he turned to the white one.
"No. It is forbidden to interfere." White stated plainly back as he turned from the hill, leaving the others to watch. Black looked to Red who had stood silently this time, teeth were bared in frustration as Black turned back to the sight.

As the Island finally slowed down the Drui would begin trying more to control the descent. A smaller contingent of Earth Spriggan would begin make a hollow for the island to fit within when it eventualy got to the sea. Killian had instructed all the Spriggan with him to aim their efforts to work with everyone elses to form a more unified front rather than several groups doing different things.

Meanwhile in the throne room Orphen was still combating the white knights with terrifying ferocity and making his way through them toward the man standing alone in the center, defenseless.

The white knights who were still fighting were falling quickly to the combined resistance of all the forces fighting them, especially the ones fighting Oprhen and Karos, since the two of them were rather incredible warriors. Karos and Orphen would quickly make it to the man in the center who was standing their defenceless, channeling all the energy through him.

Karos spoke quickly "How can we help? The island has stopped I think, but we need to lower it."

At this point Selina went down from her airship and landed on the island and approached someone from the island "We're here to help, what's going on?"

Descent into Ocean Empty Re: Descent into Ocean

Post by Arian Sun May 15, 2016 2:52 pm

The man was unable to see the strangers or use his magic to read them but for now, he trusted them more than the knights. That was enough. Koji took a deep breath and slowed the magic holding the island slightly, as he did the others would feel the ground beneath them shift toward the ocean slowly. This magic was not without consequence however, as Koji had already begun to weaken and strands among his hair lost color. Just as he was about to speak he heard her scream. His magic waned for only a moment and the island began to plummet, shaking violently and the magic surged uncontrolled before he took hold of it again. He knew he could do nothing if he meant to save the lives of his people.

Reia had been hiding behind the stone throne as the others fought the intruding knights, but all of them had missed a Veteran slip passed them behind the pillars that lead behind the throne. She looked up, a tall white skinned man in silver armor with white clothes adorning it, she shrieked as he grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to her feet. The man drew a short blade and pressed it to her neck as he stepped away from the throne for all to see. Blood rolled slowly down her neck where the blade had already began to cut her as she struggled, so she stopped, helplessly looking to Koji and the others.

Selina approached a young man dressed in officers' armor. He turned to her when the island shook and an unsteady wall behind her. He did not hesitate, lunging forward and shoving her away from the falling wreckage but not fast enough to save himself from getting caught up in it. The wall crushing the man beneath its weight, pulling him to the ground as it fell. His right arm buried beneath the heavy stone and his back bleeding where bricks cut through his armor.

"Go...Get out of here before they kill you." he urged in a pained tone.

Karos looked to the girl and saw her being held hostage by a white knight, the image reminding him of many things he saw the white knights do to his own people. He held is blade up "If you let her go, I'll make your death quick at least, you scum."

Selina gasped loudly, scrambling to her feet after he saved her. She immediately called other people over "Help me over here!" They tried to lift the section of wall that was on top of him. She even helped, responding as she did "No one is going to kill me, not here, not today."

Orphen made quick and short work of the white knights. He turned toward the commotion and strode over toward the man in the center, the Atrumite whom he recognized as Karos. " I have a better idea, Let the girl go and we'll allow you to leave this room with your life. Your armor is distinct of someone that is not new to combat, you know that is the only option that allows you to leave alive."
